Abito nel ponente, ho lo studio in centro e mia madre vive in Piemonte: il 90% del tempo che ho passato a guardare Genova è stato filtrato da un finestrino. Quindi, semi-citando Johnny Stecchino, Genova per me è quella cosa brulicante e allo stesso tempo immobile che è il traffico: un caos ingarbugliato e chiuso, colorato di forme, persone, professioni e mugugni che lascia però in alto un’apertura a una fetta di placido paesaggio (il Matitone, la collina, una fetta di mare bluissimo).

The Genoeser è un progetto artistico collettivo che vuole raccontare Genova attraverso le copertine di una rivista immaginaria.
Una finestra sulle storie di chi la città di Genova la vive ogni giorno, di chi l’ha lasciata e mai dimenticata, di chi seppur di passaggio ha potuto viverla in tutte le sue sfaccettature.
Omaggio alla storica rivista The New Yorker e alle sue celebri copertine, The Genoeser si ispira alla recente esperienza di The Milaneser e si inserisce nel network iniziato con il progetto pilota The Parisianer, con l’obiettivo di accendere un riflettore sull’illustrazione e le arti visive nel capoluogo ligure.

"Before I started to draw the cover I asked myself "How do I see Genoa?" and the answer, almost instinctive, was "From the inside of a queue". I live in the west, I have the studio in the center and my mother lives in Piedmont: 90% of the time I spent watching Genoa was filtered through a car window. So, semi-quoting Johnny Stecchino, Genoa for me is that thing teeming and at the same time immobile that is the traffic: a tangled and closed chaos, colorful shapes, people, professions and grumbles that leaves, however, at the top an opening to a slice of placid landscape (the "Big Pencil" skyscraper, the hill, a slice of super blue sea).

The Genoeser is a collective art project that wants to depict Genoa through the covers of an imaginary magazine.
A window on the stories of those who live in the city of Genoa every day, of those who have left it and never forgotten, of those who, albeit in passing, have been able to live it in all its facets.
Homage to the historic magazine The New Yorker and its famous covers, The Genoeser is inspired by the recent experience of The Milaneser and is part of the network started with the pilot project The Parisianer, with the aim of turning a spotlight on illustration and visual arts in the Ligurian capital.
